Bio

Bernadette Kamin, PT, MSPT, WCS

Bernadette is the President and owner of Kamin Physical Therapy for the past 18 years. She has been on the forefront of physical therapy treatment of urinary and fecal incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, prenatal and postpartum musculoskeletal dysfunctions in women, men and children for over 25 years. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York Binghamton in 1990 and a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1993. She received her Board Certification in Women’s Health Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) in 2011. Bernadette is an expert in pelvic floor physical therapy for obstetric, gynecologic, urologic, urogynecologic, and gastroenterologic related conditions. She also shares her extensive knowledge and expertise lecturing nationally to other clinicians and students from various disciplines. Bernadette regularly attends national and international continuing education seminars and professional conferences.

Bernadette has been an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) for 27 years. She is also a member of the Section on Women’s Health of The APTA where she is currently the Nominating Committee Chairperson and was on the Board of Directors from 1999 - 2011 as the Director of Programming and Director of Financial Development. She is also a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, National Vulvodynia Association, International Continence Association, Society of Urological Nursing and Associates, the Chicagoland Pelvic Floor Research Consortium and Private Practice Section of the APTA. She is currently President of the Illinois Network of Independent Physical Therapists (INIPT). Bernadette enjoys spending time with her husband and two children traveling, running, skiing, and gardening and volunteers at her children’s neighborhood school.
