Pelvic Floor Muscle retraining includes a series of strengthening and/or relaxation exercises involving controlled contraction and release of the muscles at the base of the pelvis, used the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic pain.
Biofeedback electronically measures the activity of your pelvic floor and abdominal muscle contractions and gives you constant feedback on how exercises are affecting your muscles. It teaches you to control your body's muscles and their responses. The biofeedback machine connects to the body with surface electrodes, which are placed on the skin or a sensor is placed in the vagina, The machine uses sounds or lights to guide your exercise.
